How to Use Tags

Modified on Fri, Jul 17 at 11:58 AM

Tags are customizable labels that help client users organize, group, and find contractors in Appruv.

Tags can be used to identify contractors by:

  • Project or site

  • Internal department

  • Preferred status

  • Work type

  • Special program

  • Follow-up requirement

  • Other client-defined groupings

Tags do not change a contractor’s qualification status or requirements.

Add a tag to a contractor

  1. Log in to Appruv.

  2. Search for and open the contractor’s company record.

  3. Locate the tag icon on the contractor’s status bar.

  4. Select the + icon.

  5. Select an existing tag or choose Create New Tag.

  6. Confirm that the tag appears on the contractor’s record.

Create a new tag

  1. Select Create New Tag.

  2. Enter a clear, concise tag name.

  3. Select Available to other users if other authorized client users should be able to view and use the tag.

  4. Save the tag.

  5. Apply it to the contractor.

By default, a newly created tag may only be visible to the person who created it.

Search by tag

  1. Select Search Vendors from the left navigation menu.

  2. Open the Tags filter.

  3. Select one or more tags.

  4. Select Search Vendors.

The results will include contractors associated with the selected tags.

Tagging guidelines

Before creating a new tag:

  • Check whether an appropriate tag already exists.

  • Use a consistent naming convention.

  • Avoid duplicate tags with minor spelling differences.

  • Do not include confidential, personal, medical, or disciplinary information.

  • Remember that shared tags may be visible to other authorized users.

Important: Tags are organizational tools only. They do not approve contractors, assign sites, change requirements, or create exceptions.
