Adding Users

You can add new users to your Appruv account and assign specific roles and permissions.  This will allow you to restrict which parts of the application your users have access to and what actions they can perform.  Users can be added using one of the following methods:

  1. A valid email address (Recommended)
  2. A mobile phone number
  3. An auto-generated username


See the sections below for more information on each method.


1.  Adding new users:


From the left sidebar select Users, then select Add New User.  Enter the user's contact information and select the Add User button at the bottom of the form.  A message will be sent to the user with their login username and a temporary password.  


If you would like to send the new user information to yourself, you can select the checkbox at the bottom and a copy of the message will be sent to your address.


By default, all users are created with the Employee Training role assigned, this role is used to complete online client orientation and training through Appruv.  If this person needs additional access to your Appruv account, you can select Add details or change roles/permissions and you will be taken to the Edit User page.  Additional options on this page include assigning training to the user or adding additional users.



Once the user receives the activation email, they will select Login and enter the username and temporary password provided.  Next, the user will confirm their account details and create a password for their account.  If a phone number has not already been entered, the user can enter either a mobile or office number.  The user will then select Activate, to confirm the new user account and can now log in with their new username and password.



2. Mobile phone numbers SMS text message activation


If the user does not have an email address available, they can verify the account with a mobile phone number.  Following the same steps above, enter the user's mobile number instead of an email address.  A message will indicate that the username and temporary password will be sent to the user's mobile device in a text message.  



The text message will include an auto-generated username (Appruv ID) and a temporary password.  The user can enter the provided login credentials on their mobile device or any computer at www.appruv.com.  They will be asked to confirm the account and create a password before activating the account.  



3. Auto-generated username (Appruv ID)


If the user cannot provide either an email address or mobile phone number, Appruv can autogenerate a unique username (Appruv ID).  This option is not recommended because the user will not receive any notifications from Appruv.  You will be responsible for providing the new username and password to the user as well as any training assignments and reminders. 


Enter the user's name and title.  Select the checkbox labeled User does not have an email address or mobile number.  Select Add User to create the account, the next page will show you the login username (Appruv ID) and temporary password.  You will need to provide this information to the user so that they can access Appruv.



Resending the confirmation email or text message


If you need to resend the activation message, either by email or text, you can do so from the Edit User page.  


Select Users on the left sidebar, click the user's name and select Edit User under the profile picture.  If the account has not been activated yet you will see a blue banner with a Resend Activation Message button.  Prior to sending make sure to confirm the user's email or mobile number is accurate.
