Contractors cannot directly change the company name displayed on an Appruv account. This restriction helps protect company records and prevents unauthorized changes.
A Company Administrator must submit the request to Appruv Support.
Legal company name changes
To request a legal company name change, provide:
The company’s current name
The requested legal name
The effective date of the change
An explanation of the reason for the change
The name, title, and email address of the person requesting it
An updated Form W-9 showing the new legal name, for U.S. companies
Equivalent tax or registration documentation, when applicable outside the United States
Submit the request and supporting documents to support@appruv.com.
Adding a DBA or alternate name
A “doing business as” name or other registered alternate name may be added to improve searches and company identification.
Provide:
The current legal company name
The requested DBA or alternate name
An updated Form W-9 showing the name on Line 2, when applicable
Proof that the alternate name is registered with the appropriate authority
Changes involving ownership
A merger, acquisition, sale, or change in legal ownership may require more than a name update. Appruv may need to determine whether:
The existing account should be updated.
A new company account is required.
Client connections can be retained.
Insurance and safety records must be replaced.
Existing agreements need to be signed again.
Describe the complete change when submitting the request.
Important: Requests must come from a Company Administrator. Appruv may verify the request before changing the account.
What happens next?
Appruv Support will review the request and may ask for additional documentation. Continue using the existing account unless instructed otherwise.
