What Does Exception or Probation Mean?

Modified on Fri, Jul 17 at 11:10 AM

An Exception or Probation status means the client has conditionally approved your company even though one or more prequalification requirements have not been fully satisfied.

Exceptions are granted by the client, not automatically by Appruv.

Possible conditions

The client may require your company to:

  • Submit a corrective action plan.

  • Provide additional documentation.

  • Resolve an insurance deficiency.

  • Improve safety performance.

  • Complete additional reviews or training.

  • Meet requirements by a specified deadline.

  • Operate under additional monitoring or restrictions.

An exception may apply only to a particular site, business unit, work scope, or requirement.

Exception expiration

Exceptions may have an expiration date. Before expiration, the client may:

  • Extend the exception.

  • Require updated information.

  • Change the status to Prequalified.

  • Change the status to Not Prequalified.

Your company should address the underlying deficiency before the exception expires.

Important: An Exception or Probation status does not eliminate other client requirements or automatically authorize work at every location.
